dumping with the sleeve? scared silly!
Here's what scared the bejezus out of me. I flew home last Friday. As I was awaiting my plane, a box of Hot Tamales ended up in my hand. I ate them on an empty stomach. All of them. The trouble started at DFW as I was riding the Parking Spot van to my car. I started sweating profusely. It was dripping off of my face. By the time I got to my car, I was becoming very confused. So much so that I forgot to tip the driver. As I was getting into my car, I forgot where I was. I sat for a few minutes to regroup. I even considered calling 911. My husband was out of town. I had a protein bar in my briefcase and I ate that. I was able to drive home although I was fighting off falling asleep. I could hardly drive over 50 mph. I did some serious praying. Truth be known, I shouldn't have driven but I did. I finally made it home. I stripped off my clothes that were soaking wet. Even my hair was wet. All of this really frightened me.
Will I ever eat Hot Tamales again? Heck no. Does this mean I will dump on sugar from now on? Maybe it was the perfect storm with lots of sugar on an empty stomach. Any thoughts?

Did you have diabetes before surgery? Watch what you eat and note any changes\reactions and times.
I've only had a couple of aweful dumps, usually my "overdo" signal is nausea.
Happy Anniversary!

That must have been awful to drive home feeling that bad. I'm glad you made it OK.

I guess I pushed the envelope too far! I forget that I don't have a "normal" stomach sometimes. But I sure got reminded. I think I'll be steering clear of Hot Tamales.
My father developed type II diabetes. I'm wondering if I have a touch of hypoglycemia???
Thanks for the input.
